Moving along
I have been traveling and helping charities over the last 5 years. Meeting very interesting people, and seeing much of the natural beauty the world has to offer. Nature, wildlife, cultures and people are the thrust of this blog with insights and spiritual signposts I have found along the way

2019 whole new life
I am now living in Kham Ta Kla, Sakon Nakhon, Thailand. We have a farm growing about 20 different types of fruit along with Rice and palm oil plants. My wonderful wife Nid and her son fulfil my life along with her 3 year old granddaughter her daughter and son in law who all live on the farm. The farm is on 2 locations one of them being on a river at which we some times go to picnic.
This is our house, we are mostly out of doors, getting up with the sun to hear the birds call to each other, there are many different types of birds and it is very peaceful. I moved from Chiang Mai a few years ago as the smoke form the field and forest burning became a health hazard and I am glad that I did, now I go for a visit a few times a year to see friends, the nearest town form me is 4 kilometres and the nearest city is 130 kilometres.

Maesarieng
We stopped off in Mae sariang for some r and r, and rented a room overlooking the river
The children had a spaghetti dinner with an apple and brownie I had driven the tomato sauce and apples up to maehongson traveling through pai and 1870 turns as I wound my way around mountains. Then the three hour drive on muddy roads, slipping and sliding along the way
Here are pictures of the mountains
And rutted roads
The children and their teachers are wonderful. The kids are well behaved and the teachers are totally dedicated, this is white Karen hill tribe territory, they were here before their were borders. The pictures cannot describe the beauty and natural rhythm that flows through the area. Vehicles pick folks up along the way to deliver them although i saw few other trucks coming or going.
There is only a generator to create electricity, the country of Belgium donated a 3500 watt solar system to another school and we hope to help in any way I can.

Heading to Maehongson with toysforthailand
We rented a 4x4 and we are making our way to a remote hill tribe school down a muddy dirt road to deliver 300 apples and a spaghetti dinner to 250 students, they had originally asked for KFC, a major US export next to Macdonald's and wars, but Sasha turned them down and they will get Italian instead. It should be an interesting trip with my friend Vicki in tow, she just left a week in and elephant camp. Sorry no pictures right now but please be patient. Thanks Joe

Another day another airport
Well I am leaving Bangkok and I am trying to figure out how to put pictures on the blog via my ipad, one more thing to suss out. I have been reading a few books that I downloaded and enjoying my relaxing stay, and stress reduction in a 5 star hotel in bangkok, the gym was awesome and it was great to start working up a sweat again. My stay with my daughter was wonderful, she had time to play host to me before her classes to be a substitute teacher at the high school in puna.
Her husband is rebuilding a house for the wonderful Nicole whom I had the pleasure of meeting along with Angela, her love. They are a great combination of Heart and Mind. Great fun, I think that one of my great joys is to meet people who are unique and bright and fun, a great conversation is like the nectar of the gods at this time in my life.
Here are some pictures from my trip to Hawaii, there will be more posted about Bangkok when Vicki, gives me the wonderful photos that she took at Wat Po and the grand palace.

Sitting in portland
Waiting for a plane. I think I finally decided what I am going to be when I grow up. I have amassed 19000 photos so it would seem I like photography and I am awestruck by all of the beauty that this world has to offer. I seem to be a bit footloose. I am going to apply myself to nature and travel photography. To that end I will be getting serious about the art.
